At Kaydental in North York, we use modern, state-of-the-art devices such as digital dental x-rays to enable us to provide greatly improved diagnostic capabilities to our patients while lessening their exposure to radiation over traditional film x-rays.
While traditional film x-rays have been the standard for diagnosing dental concerns for the past 90 years, digital x-rays can be more comfortable than film, and it's a real time-saver over the old technology. They create much higher quality images that do not have to be developed, which eliminates the disposal of toxic waste into the environment.
Digital intra-oral x-rays capture images via a sensor that is placed inside the mouth. A lead apron is still worn by the patient to take the necessary precautions. The x-ray image appears on a computer screen to enable both our dentists and our patients to see and address dental concerns together. The image can be enhanced and magnified to show conditions such as cavities or structural weaknesses in teeth.
At our North York dental office, our fees are based on the most current Ontario Dental Association fee guides.
