Dr. Stephen M. Kay graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto in 1994 with an Honours degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He then pursued his dental training at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. Following graduation, Dr. Kay completed a hospital based dental residency programme at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. There he received advanced training in anesthesia including IV sedation and use of nitrous oxide ("laughing gas"), as well as experience in the management of dental trauma, operating room dentistry, and care of special needs patients. In 1999 Dr. Stephen Kay returned to Toronto to start a general and cosmetic based practice. Dr. Stephen Kay is also a clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the Department of Periodontics. He is a licensed dentist in both Ontario through the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and in Illinois through the Illinois State Board of Dentistry. He is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, where he serves on the Executive Council, and the Academy of General Dentistry where he is pursuing Fellowship status. Dr. Kay enjoys spending time outside the office attending numerous continuing education courses locally and abroad and participating in various community events around the city with his family.
Dr. Stephen Kay practices general, family and cosmetic dentistry and is pleased to provide a wide range of dental services for adults and children. These include: Routine check-ups and cleanings, crowns, bridges, dentures, fillings, root canals, and extractions. He also has a great interest and experience in the latest dental cosmetic technologies such as tooth whitening, metal-free ceramic crowns, and porcelain veneers and has completed training in the Strauman ITI, Nobel Biocare, and Astratech dental implant systems. Dr. Melvyn Allan Kay is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in both its Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Program and its post-graduate specialty program in Paediatric Dentistry (Dip. Paedo). His experience and background include general dentistry but his area of focus for more than 25 years has been dentistry for infants, children and adolescents. Dr. Kay has been established in the same location in Toronto, North York since beginning his practice, and is pleased to continue to serve the needs of children of all ages, from all areas of the city and beyond.
Dr. Melvyn Kay is licensed by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), and is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Society of Dentistry for Children, Canadian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and the International Association of Dentistry for Children. He is a member of the Toronto East Dental Society and past president of the Ontario Society of Paediatric Dentistry where he continues to maintain active membership. Dr. Kay has attended numerous continuing education courses in Canada and internationally, including training in the use of nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") sedation. He is a member of the clinical teaching faculty of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry's Department of Paediatric Dentistry. Dr. Kay is a member of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, and for many years, served as a member of the Executive Committee, and presently as a Senator.
Dr. Kay, a long-standing member of Mayfair Racquet Club where he plays squash and trains several times each week, is also committed to numerous community efforts and, as an avid fan of Bluegrass music, "picks" at his five string banjo whenever he has the chance. Dr. Kay and his wife Carolyn, a dental hygiene educator, are the proud parents of Stephen and Gina, and Joanne and Kevin, and the doting, adoring grandparents of four grandchildren.
Dr. Melvyn Kay provides a full range of dental services for infants, children and adolescents. These include: well-child dental check-ups, preventive care, fillings and crowns, pulp therapy, extractions, tooth eruption guidance, orthodontics and treating dental injuries. Dr. Kay also has extensive experience in dental treatment for special needs patients of all ages and expertise in behaviour modification and management in the dental environment.

Dr. Leila got her DDS degree from Iran. After working for two years as a general dentist, she realized her passion for working with children. Following a three-year Masters program in Pediatric Dentistry in Iran, she practiced for seven years as a pediatric dentist there. After coming to Canada, she completed a three-year program at the University of Toronto to obtain her MSc in Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Leila is a Board-Certified Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry and a member of AAPD (America Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), CAPD (Canadian Academy of Pediatric Dentistry), OSPD (Ontario Society of Paediatric Dentists), CDA (Canadian Dental Association) and ODA (Ontario Dental Association).
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Leila loves spending time with her family. She also loves water color painting, photography, reading, cooking and playing tennis.Back to Top
Karine is a graduate of George Brown College's Dental Hygiene program and the program in Restorative Dental Hygiene. She also has a BSc. degree in Chemistry and speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.Back to Top
Karen is the youngest member of the Kaydental team. She is highly skilled in most things technical in our administration office. Karen's friendly voice can be heard assisting you when you phone or supporting you in a variety of administrative matters. Karen enjoys shopping, travel, and spending time with Nina, her chihuahua. Anita started working at Kaydental over 20 years ago after graduating from the George Brown College Dental Hygiene program. In her spare time, she serves as secretary for the Toronto North Dental Hygienists' Society as part of her commitment to personal and professional growth and ongoing learning and development.
