Dr. Stephen Kay

Dr. Stephen M. Kay graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto in 1994 with an Honours degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. He then pursued his dental training at the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1998. Following graduation, Dr. Kay completed a hospital-based dental residency programme at the Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. There he received advanced training in anesthesia including IV sedation and use of nitrous oxide ("laughing gas"), as well as experience in the management of dental trauma, operating room dentistry, and care of special needs patients. In 1999 Dr. Stephen Kay returned to Toronto to start a general and cosmetic-based practice. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Stephen Kay is a clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto in the Department of Periodontics. He is a licensed dentist through the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Dental Association and the Canadian Dental Association. Dr.Kay is a Past President of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, Toronto Alumni Chapter and is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry where he is pursuing Fellowship status. Dr. Kay enjoys spending time outside the office attending numerous continuing education courses locally and abroad and participating in various community events around the city with his family.

Dr. Stephen Kay practices general, family and cosmetic dentistry and is pleased to provide a wide range of dental services for adults and children. These include: regular check-ups and cleanings, crowns, bridges, dentures, fillings, root canal treatments, and extractions. He also has a great interest in and experience with the latest dental cosmetic technologies such as tooth whitening, metal-free ceramic crowns, porcelain veneers and tooth replacement procedures such as implants. Dr. Kay has trained in the Straumann ITI, Nobel Biocare, and Astra Tech Dental Implant Systems.

Dr. Melvyn Kay

1941 - 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Melvyn Kay, on June 15, 2024.

Dr. Melvyn Allan Kay, my father, was a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in both the Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Program and the post-graduate specialty program in Paediatric Dentistry (Dip. Paedo). His experience and background included general dentistry and his area of specialization for more than 50 years was dentistry for infants, children and adolescents. He also had extensive experience in dental treatment for special needs patients of all ages and expertise in behaviour modification and management in the dental environment.

Dr. Melvyn Allan Kay was a past president of the Ontario Society of Paediatric Dentistry and the Toronto Alpha Omega Dental Society, as well as a member of the clinical teaching staff of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry Department of Paediatric Dentistry.

He was the founder of Kaydental and proudly provided exceptional dental care throughout his distinguished career.

My father was a devoted family man, a loyal friend to many, and a respected colleague. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

We honour his legacy at Kaydental by continuing to provide a welcoming dental home to all.

Karine

Karine is a graduate of George Brown College's Dental Hygiene program and the program in Restorative Dental Hygiene. She also has a BSc. degree in Chemistry and speaks Cantonese.

Anita

Anita started working at Kaydental over 20 years ago after graduating from the George Brown College Dental Hygiene program. In her spare time, she serves as secretary for the Toronto North Dental Hygienists' Society as part of her commitment to personal and professional growth and ongoing learning and development. Additionally, she enjoys spending time with her husband and busy twin boys.

Jenny

Jenny, an intra-oral dental assistant graduate, has many years of dental assisting experience with Kaydental, where she is primarily focused on assisting with our pediatric patients. She is fluent in Korean as well as English.

Tess

Marites (Tess), who is a certified dental assistant, comes to us with a strong background in health care and demonstrated commitment to continuing education. Tess's friendly, outgoing personality makes everyone feel welcome and at ease. As well, Tess speaks Tagalog and basic Russian and Farsi.

Melinda

Mel was born and raised in South America. She offers 10 years of experience in dental administration and treatment coordination. Mel has outstanding knowledge and customer service; she can assist you with any concerns or questions.
