After the searing summer, the cool fall weather is a welcome relief! It's time to get cozy with a cup of hot chocolate and pull out your favourite scarf. Of course the most important fashion choice you might be making this month will be your Halloween costume! Dust off your old Ghostbusters uniform because it's new again! Or, maybe pick your favourite Game of Thrones character or, for the kids, there's plenty to choose from in costumes this year. But also, lots to choose from in snacks! Why not try healthy alternatives this Halloween? Instead of candy look to fruits, veggies and cheeses for healthy, wholesome and delicious snacks. Simply limiting the amount of sweets, such as cakes, cookies and candy, is a great place to start a healthy snacking trend. For the occasional treat, it’s best to eat those sweets as dessert with a meal rather than between meals, and limit them to once or twice a day. All day snacking on sugary treats is most unhealthy for your teeth! And don’t forget to brush and floss!
This season offers a variety of great activities such as apple picking or just enjoying the colourful autumn leaves. For those who need a little more excitement, check out the Toronto After Dark Film Festival. For gallery lovers, there's Art Toronto and for book lovers, the International Festival of Authors will be happening end of month.
